Humidity
Damp, muggy days slow drying. Dry winter air and running air conditioning speed it up.
Carpet care guide
With our low-moisture process, carpet typically dries in about 1.5 to 2 hours under ordinary conditions. Heavily saturated methods put more water into the carpet, so their dry time depends much more on the equipment and the home.
Why it varies
The same cleaning can dry faster in one room than another. These are the factors that matter most.

Moving air carries moisture away. A room with a running fan dries faster than a closed-off room.
Thick, dense or long-pile carpet holds moisture longer than low, tight carpet.
Heavily soiled traffic lanes and treated spots may get extra attention, so those areas can take a little longer.
Speed it up
Set the thermostat fan to “on,” turn on ceiling fans, and point a box fan across the room if you have one.
In humid weather, air conditioning or a dehumidifier helps more than opening windows.
Wait until the carpet feels dry to the touch. If you need to cross it sooner, wear clean socks or shoe covers instead of street shoes.
Keep pets off until the carpet is dry. Put furniture back once the carpet is dry so legs don’t sit on damp fibers.
Dry time is typical, not guaranteed. It varies with the carpet and the conditions in your home.

Ready when you are
